ACLAMO

Services

ACLAMO’s strengths and core competencies are found in its case management, service mediation and service co-delivery. Since the agency is comparatively small, our priority is to connect people to exisiting services whenever possible. Referrals can sometimes be the right solution. However, with relatively few Spanish-speaking individuals in public and private agencies and institutions, our work typically involves more extensive assistance to overcome linguistic, cultural, transportation and other barriers to service or resource accessibility.

Our services include information and referral, resettlement assistance, case management for children, families and the elderly, job readiness counseling and placement and housing counseling.

Our Core Programs include:

Early Prenatal Care
Parenting Education
Early Childhood Education
Family Literacy & School Readiness
Elderly Services
Primary Care & Health Services
Child Development Support
Early Intervention
Transition to Kindergarten
ESL and Life Skills

Familias Adelante
In 1989 this unique program was created to help Latino children in grades 1-12 to improve school achievement through after-school tutoring and enrichment, and to help bridge the gaps betweenSpanish-speaking families and the public schools through home and school counseling. In the mid-1990s, Familias Adelante was broadened to promote access to a continuum of critical health, education and social service resources for at-risk children and families. Key activities include case management for maternal and child health, parenting education, early child development, school readiness and family literacy, after school tutoring and home and school counseling.
